What is CIRPAD®, and why did it lead to our Performance Trail Tee?

Most sportswear today works great — as long as you wear it. The problem usually comes later.
The T-shirt runs its miles, wears out, loses its shape, or you simply stop wearing it. What then? With classic materials, often not much. Textile waste usually doesn't end up back as a new T-shirt, but as a problem.

And that's why we were interested in CIRPAD®. A material designed not just for performance, but for life after life.

What is CIRPAD®?

CIRPAD® is an innovative circular material from the Czech company NIL Textile. It is made from recycled polyamide waste, such as used fishing nets, and is designed to be re-recycled after use through molecular recycling.

In other words:
it's not a material that is only recycled once and then discarded.

CIRPAD® is created for a circular system — meaning that after wear, it can become a new textile material again without loss of quality. CIRPAD® achieves up to 70% lower carbon footprint and up to 86% lower water consumption compared to conventional polyamide 6.

How is CIRPAD® circular?

Circularity in clothing doesn't just mean that the material is from a recycled source. With CIRPAD®, it's important that it's designed from the start to be able to re-enter the system after wear.

And that's exactly why we have a QR code on our Performance Trail Tee.

Once the T-shirt has run its miles, you've worn it out, or it's no longer in a state where you want to wear it further, you simply scan the QR code. Through it, you'll find out how to return the T-shirt back to us at Marylu.

We will then, together with NIL Textile in Ostrava, recycle it using their circular technology, and the material can re-enter its textile life.

This is crucial for us. Because true circularity doesn't start when the product becomes waste. It begins already in the design phase.

What can CIRPAD® do?

CIRPAD® is a technical material, so it's not just a "more sustainable alternative." It's designed for performance. For performance clothing, we are mainly interested in the material being able to handle movement, sweat, frequent wear, and real outdoor conditions. CIRPAD® is extremely strong, durable, and suitable for performance wear.
