Outside Play: a new collection from Marylu for the mountains, the city, and everything in between
Outside(r) Play is a new collection by Marylu that we created for everyone who doesn't want to wear outdoor gear just as a performance uniform. With this collection, we want to reawaken the child within you. The one who knows that being outdoors doesn't just mean performing, reaching a goal, or ticking off a route on a map. Outdoors, you can get a little lost again. In the forest, in the grass, in laughter, in another person, or even in yourself.
And that's exactly what Outside(r) Play is about. Returning to movement that isn't an obligation. An unconventional, slightly silly love for nature. Quality time spent outdoors that deserves quality clothing made from materials that make sense.
The New Generation of Outdoor Apparel
The Outside(r) Play collection was created in response to a question we constantly ask ourselves at Marylu:
What if outdoor clothing wasn't just about performance, but also about feeling?
We wanted to create pieces that can handle movement in nature but also look good in the city. Clothing you can wear for a weekend trip, a quick trail run, fast hiking, traveling, a walk in the woods, sitting in the grass, or a coffee on the go.
In the collection, you'll find two main products:
Outsider Pants — unisex outdoor lifestyle pants made from organic GOTS ripstop cotton.
CIRPAD Trail Tee — women's and men's sports T-shirt made from circular performance material CIRPAD®.
Each piece has a different role, a different material, and a different use. But one thing unites them: they are designed for real life outdoors.
Outsider Pants: Unisex Outdoor Pants Made from Organic Ripstop Cotton
Outsider Pants are the core product of the entire collection. Pants created for moments when you don't want to worry about whether you're dressed more for nature or the city.
They are unisex outdoor lifestyle pants made from organic ripstop cotton, designed for movement, travel, mountains, and everyday wear. They function as a hybrid between outdoor pants and a city lifestyle piece — you wear them out in the morning, end up in the forest, sit on a rock, get a little dirty along the way, and then comfortably blend into a café in the evening.
The material is organic ripstop cotton, which is comfortable against the skin but also more durable thanks to its ripstop construction. This helps reinforce the fabric and increases its resistance to outdoor use. This makes the Outsider Pants suitable for hikes, weekend trips, travel, lighter outdoor activities, and everyday wear in the city.
We designed the cut based on the principle of movement first. The looser loose fit and unisex cut give the body space. The pants shouldn't pull when you walk, sit, climb, run, or stretch. The diamond crotch supports a natural range of motion, so you can move without your clothes restricting you.
And because outdoor pants without proper pockets are just a nice joke, the Outsider Pants have deep pockets, two lockable pockets, a key loop, and a functional Fidlock buckle. Everything designed so that the pants work in motion, on travels, and in the city.
They are for everyone who wants one pair of pants for the mountains, the city, travel, the café, the grass, and for days that start without a plan.
CIRPAD® Trail Tee: Sports T-shirt for Running and Fast Activities
The second product in the collection is the CIRPAD Performance Trail Tee — a lightweight sports T-shirt designed for fast movement outdoors. You'll find it in both women's and men's versions in the collection.
This is not a T-shirt for slow stop-and-go activities, long standing in the cold, or an all-day trip with frequent breaks. The CIRPAD Performance Trail Tee is a performance piece for when you want to move fast. For running, trail running, fast hiking, brisk climbs, short intense sports activities, and quick outdoor movement.
The material CIRPAD® is a recycled synthetic fiber. And yes, it is synthetic. But it's exactly where synthetic makes sense: for sweat, pace, and short, intense performance. We don't want to claim that everything synthetic is bad. We want to show that it matters where, why, and how the material is used.
CIRPAD® is made from recycled synthetic material from used fishing nets and is designed with an emphasis on circularity. This means its story doesn't have to end when the T-shirt is worn out. Each T-shirt is 100% recycled and 100% recyclable.
On every CIRPAD Trail Tee, you'll find a QR code. When you've worn out the T-shirt, you can scan the code and easily find out how to return it to us. We will then molecularly recycle it with our partner Niltextile in Ostrava without the use of water. The material will be processed so that new fiber can be created from it — and from that, a new T-shirt again.
For us, this is a big part of the future of outdoor clothing. Not just to produce, wear, and discard. But to create a product that has a clear function, clear use, and a clear path back.
Why We Combined Natural and Circular Materials
Outside(r) Play is not a collection built on one universal material that is supposed to solve everything. That's not how we believe good clothing works. On the contrary. Every material should have its place.
For the Outsider Pants, we chose organic ripstop cotton because we wanted a natural, comfortable, and durable material for all-day wear, the city, travel, and lighter outdoor activities. The pants are meant to be comfortable, sturdy, and wearable every day.
For the CIRPAD Trail Tee, we chose recycled synthetic performance fiber because the T-shirt is designed for fast movement, running, trail, and fast hiking. For that, you need lightness, functionality, and a material that can handle intensity.
Outside(r) Play is an invitation outdoors
With this collection, we don't want to say that you have to exercise more, walk more, run more, or be more outdoors. Rather the opposite.
We want to remind you that being outside can be simpler. That you don't always have to have a plan. That you can get lost in the forest, sit in the grass, laugh too loudly, get your pants dirty, run just because you can, and wear clothes that can handle this life with you.
