The truth behind the seams or how we make Maryla different

At first it sounded simple. To create underwear made from milk that is functional, sustainable and so comfortable you can't even feel it . But as is often the case, the reality was a little wilder than the mood board hanging in the office. And that's exactly what we want to tell you, how it really was.

🥛 Milk that doesn't pour into a mug

We discovered a fabric made from milk protein, casein, which is produced from dairy waste. What would otherwise end up spilled is transformed, thanks to innovation, into an extremely fine, hypoallergenic and naturally breathable fiber .
But the path to the first piece of Milk Skin underwear was no easy feat. The first samples were unusable, some shrank after washing, others didn't fit at all. Finding the right cut, a production partner, and in general... someone who would understand what we really wanted to create took 2 and a half years.
At Maryl, we strive to design things that adapt to you, not you to them . Underwear that doesn't chafe and keeps up with you. And that applies to the entire process: we test, we adjust, we try again.
And in the meantime, we communicate openly. What went wrong, what we're still tweaking, how much water we saved, where the material comes from.
